“When he shall die,
Take him and cut him out in little stars,
And he will make the face of heaven so fine
That all the world will be in love with night
And pay no worship to the garish sun.”
― William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet
This painting comes straight from my heart. Actually, I have been in love with this Romeo since 1978 when I first saw the wonderful production by Francoo Zeffirelli.
The movie was made in 1968 and starred the beautiful Olivia Hussey and the boy who stole my adolescent heart, Leonard Whiting. I'm not sure if I have entirely done him justice, but I can truthfully say that every stroke of the brush was executed with love. *Sigh*
